Richard Bravo, Percussionist, USA/Venizuella

Richard Bravo is a Venezuelan-born drummer and percussionist whose artistic passion and precise musicianship have driven him to the top of the industry. He is one of the most in-demand drummers in the business, collaborating with some of the most well-known artists across multiple genres and amassing a portfolio of over a thousand recordings.
Richard’s stellar performances and universal acclaim from both artists and fans led to his most recent achievements in 2020, as he was named as the second best percussionist in the world by Modern Drummer magazine and also received a Communicator Award from the Academy of Interactive and Visual Arts (Best Crafted Sound in a Video). While his impressive body of work over more than 29 years has earned him quite a few awards - for example, 37 Grammy Awards Achievement Certificates and 3 Latin Grammy Awards - the true measure of his career is how other artists clamor to work with him. His discography reads like an encyclopedia of prominent artists and hit records. Some of his most well-known recordings include:

Beyond his illustrious portfolio of studio work, Richard is in high demand for live performances and global tours. After performing on the Barbra Streisand/Barry Gibb collaboration “Guilty Pleasures,” Richard joined Barry Gibb on his “Mythology” global tour, which resulted in a two-CD live album release. Richard has also performed on two different MTV Unplugged shows - first with Ricky Martin in 2006, then with Juanes in 2012. Both performances received rave reviews, and both were later released on CD. Richard continued to play with Juanes on their album “Loco De Amor” (2014), and is on tour with Juanes currently.

Richard currently lives in Miami, Florida, where he works as a musician as well as an engineer and producer in his home studio known as Cuero Productions. He believes strongly in giving back to the musical community, and does so by teaching a weekly course in Afro-Carribean World Rhythms at the University Of Miami School Of Music. It is Richard’s hope and desire that his achievements in world percussion will inspire future generations of musicians to achieve their own goals, and he is truly honored to have a career working with the best established and emerging musicians around the world.
