Mario Parmisano was born on June 18, 1960, in Argentina. From the 1980s, he is recognized for his collaboration as a pianist and musical director with some of the most important Argentinian artists of that time: Estela Raval, Sergio Denis, and Silvina Garré, among others. During his time in Argentine Rock, he was summoned by Pedro Aznar, and later by David Lebón, having occasionally shared the stage with Luis Alberto Spinetta, Charly Garcia, and Nito Mestre. As a session musician in Argentina, he had the honor of accompanying as a keyboardist for great Spanish Artists who were on tour in South America: Mrs. Rocío Jurado, Isabel Pantoja, Paloma San Basilio, Sara Montiel, and was invited by Julio Iglesias to participate in his USA Tours.
In 1992, with David Lebón, he shared the Musical Production of the songs for the film "Tango Feroz", which was an unprecedented success in Argentina.
In 1993 Mario moved to New York, and since the 1990s is recognized in the international jazz scene for his long career with the American guitarist Al Di Meola, with whom he has participated in 10 best-selling records, as well as working with the great jazz artists such as Chick Corea, Herbie Hancock, Steve Gadd, Marc Johnson, Peter Erskine, John Patitucci, and others
Together with Al Di Meola, he has performed more than 2,200 times on the most prestigious international stages, such as the Vienna Opera, the Montreux Jazz Festival, and the Montreal Jazz Festivals, with the Moscow Symphony Orchestra, and on many occasions at the Blue Note in New York, Milano, and Tokyo.
Since 2008, Mario Parmisano has released 7 CDs in his name presenting to his fans the Tango & Jazz Trio, performing the works of Maestro Astor Piazzolla. From 2008 till now he had the honor of sharing the stage with the great Paco de Lucía, Michel Camilo, Paul Wertico, Abraham Laboriel, and The Yellow Jackets, among others.
In 2016, the Government of the City of Buenos Aires declared Mario Parmisano an Outstanding Personality of Culture in Argentina.
In 2020, Mario Parmisano moved his residency to Spain, where he performed solo, in trio, and quartet with various guest artists.
In March 2023, Al Di Meola invited Mario to join his group as a special guest to perform in his shows in Europe and South America.
With his Tango Jazz Trio, Mario participated in the Peñíscola International Jazz Festival and the Elche Jazz Festival, among other performances.
In 2024, he presented his Tango Jazz Trio at the Castellón Jazz Festival and other Jazz Clubs in Spain. He also recorded his compositions and the music of Astor Piazzolla and Stevie Wonder.
Currently, Mario Parmisano is working on the recording of the album "A Classy Journey from Buenos Aires to Rome" featuring the music of Astor Piazzolla, Ennio Morricone, and Nino Rota, which is produced by Pier 5 Company and Terry Heimat Studios by the multiple Grammy Award Winner Alex Sino and conductor, producer and composer Taras "Terry" Kutsenko.
